Vijay Shankar Called As Replacement For Bhuvneshwar Kumar For Test Series
Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s superb bowling in the India vs Sri Lanka 1st Test and Bhuvneshwar Kumar will not be able to play in the India vs Sri Lanka second and third Tests due to his marriage. In their place, Tamil Nadu's all-rounder Vijay Shankar has been included in the team. Apart from Bhubaneswar, Shikhar Dhawan will not be part of the team in the India vs Sri Lanka 2nd Test. Although he will be available in the Ind vs SL Third Test. The Ind vs SL 2nd Test will be played in Nagpur from November 24-28. 14-member team has been announced for the India vs Sri Lanka 2nd Test.
Who Is Vijay Shankar
26 year old Vijay Shankar was born on January 26, 1991. He first came to the news, when in 2014 he was taken in the IPL in which was captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s the Chennai Super Kings team. Vijay Shankar shows his performance both from ball and bat. Vijay Shankar has scored 1671 runs in 32 first-class matches. Apart from this, 32 wickets have also made their names. He has also played some matches from India-A.

His runs in domestic cricket have been very good. He scored 1671 runs in his 32 first-class matches with an average of 50.
Vijay played from Sunrise Hyderabad in IPL. Earlier in 2014, he had participated in the IPL in the first part of Chennai Super Kings. However, he only played a match.
Vijay Shankar believes his idol is Rahul Dravid. Especially in Rahul's Adelaide 233 and 72 runs innings are very much like him. He says that sometimes he sees these shifts to motivate himself.
This year he was also given the command of the Tamil Nadu team. Under his leadership, Tamil Nadu team participated in the Vijay Hazare and Deodhar Trophy.
